The Juvenile Justice Coalition supports equitable treatment in the least restrictive setting consistent with public safety for each child in the juvenile justice system. The quality of treatment they receive must
be needs-based and consistent with appropriate standards. JJC supports the increased use of community alternatives to incarceration in order to reduce Ohio’s reliance on institutional placements of children in
the juvenile system. The Juvenile Justice Coalition promotes the development of more diversified and effective programs for children in the juvenile justice system throughout the state.
The Board of Trustees composed of researchers, educators, as well as other social service and juvenile justice professionals help to direct and preserve the mission of the Coalition.
